Starfield has a dedicated showcase in the works

According to today’s Xbox and Bethesda developer showcase announcement, Starfield will host its own dedicated showcase event sometime in the future.

The sci-fi FPS RPG has been highly anticipated since its release in 2018, but there has been little gameplay or meaningful information released recently, with the most recent major update being a brief trailer released last June. The game is still slated for this year released in the first half of the year.

In dodging this month’s showcase, it left behind a nice lineup of games, including Redfall, Elder Scrolls Online, Forza, and Minecraft Legends, to draw some attention beyond the shadow it’s likely to cast over the entire event. The reason why it’s not given in the blog post is as follows: “In order to devote the appropriate time to delving into the Bethesda game studio’s starry sky, a standalone show is in the works.”

This was of course meant to hint at a major update to the game, but now that we’re firmly in Bethesda’s six-month release window of 2022, many are eager for more details given the lack of a firm live date.

It also gives Starfield relatively little time to push out all its pre-launch hype stuff like feature deep dives, dev diaries, etc. Having said that, maybe it doesn’t take much time to build excitement purely due to the nature of the product. It’s a brand new IP from Bethesda, and it’s a concept that has gamers all over the world salivating.

How do you feel about the absence of the stars? Does it worry you? When do you think its showcase will go live? Let us know below!
