‘Bob Marley: A Love’ surpasses ‘Mrs. Weber’ at box office

Who would win in a fight: reggae icon Bob Marley, or one of Marvel’s many super-powered Spider-Men?

In hand-to-hand combat, Marley’s musical style may not hold a candle to old-school web-throwing.But when it comes to this weekend’s box office, the Marley biopic Bob Marley: A Love Beats everything – including Sony’s mrs webb.

The odd matchup is the result of both movies being released on Valentine’s Day, potentially earning extra revenue over the Presidents Day long weekend. As of February 17, Bob Marley: A Love It topped the box office with $25.3 million and had a production budget of $70 million. The film stars Kingsley Ben-Adit and Lashana Lynch as Bob and Rita Marley.
