As promised, Samsung is bringing the first One UI 6.1 update to the Galaxy S24 series, with several improvements in several regions including Europe and the United States
The Galaxy S24 series (carrier-locked models) in the United States is receiving the latest update, SamMobile reports S92x1UEU1AXB7 version number. This is a noteworthy update, measuring approximately 678MB. SamMobile noted that the firmware also comes with the February 2024 security patch and promised display and camera improvements, in addition to 72 security vulnerabilities.
The changelog includes new vividness options for the Galaxy S24 series, which brings the option to “adjust screen vividness.” Updated camera improvements include optimizations for image quality and clarity. In addition, stability and reliability have been improved, and security has been enhanced.
A week ago, Samsung took to a community forum to detail how the February security patch, which had just begun rolling out, would affect cameras. While the current changelog doesn’t detail the changes, the update appears to address concerns and feedback Galaxy S24 series users have raised since they started using the trio following its January release.
In particular, the camera on the Galaxy S24 Ultra may be improved after the latest update. SamMobile noted that this involves the overall video quality shot through the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s rear camera.
As mentioned, these rear camera image quality improvements include photos taken using the high-resolution camera sensor on the Ultra. Exposure should also be improved for photos taken in low-light conditions.
Additionally, the Galaxy S24 series should see an increase in detail and clarity on faces and pets. The vividness adjustment added with the latest update is to address user concerns about the Galaxy S24 series’ displays appearing washed out compared to previous Galaxy models.
Samsung earlier confirmed that the new update will also bring “enhancements to the camera experience, including upgrades to the device’s zoom capabilities, portrait mode, night scenes, rear camera video capture capabilities, and more.”
You can see the new Vividness slider running on the Galaxy S24 Ultra via Settings > Display > Screen Mode > Advanced Settingsconfirmed Android Authority’s claims and further stated that the latest firmware is expected to roll out to Indian devices as well.
