2024 is a rare year, because it is the year when a new Contra game appears. Contra: Operation Galuga It may be the freshest face when it comes to Nintendo Switch run-and-gun action games, but it’s hard-pressed to fight this war on its own. In fact, there are quite a few such games on the Nintendo eShop. One or two or even three lists would be enough, but today I have one for you. A list of ten games. These are just some of my favorites in the genre, and I’m covering them in no particular order. I also plan on cheating no less than two picks, so be prepared.
Contra Anniversary Collection ($19.99)
The first one cheated, but I definitely had to be allowed to indulge in it.The run-and-gun genre has existed before Contra It will probably become popular without it, but it certainly won’t be the same. This set is different from its Castlevania Correspondingly, it was more or less complete by the end of the 16-bit generation. You can get the arcade games, you can get the home games, but the only thing you can’t get is the Game Boy port Against III. Every game in this series is great.
ACA NEOGEO Metal Slug 3 ($7.99)
As we examine important works of the genre, we must alloy slug.outside Contra This is probably the most popular run-and-gun game series, and it’s easy to see why. The gameplay is tight, the bosses are over-the-top, and the charm oozes from every pore. It’s hard to go wrong with either alloy slug games but my favorite is metal slug 3. It’s over the top in almost every way, and I can’t help but love it.
Blazing Chrome ($16.99)
There are quite a few games that pay tribute publicly Contrabut the passion for these games is rarely matched by the quality. red hot chrome is an exception because this game is awesome. It has everything you want to see in a game of this type, including great action, great presentation, and a serious level of challenge that’s still completely manageable.if you love Contrayou should check red hot chrome.
Cuphead ($19.99)
Okay, yes.I can’t quite make a list like this and leave cuphead Off, even though you’re doing a lot more shooting than running in this car. In fact, it’s the boss fights that take center stage here, with the relatively few stages doing little other than softening you up before the main event. These bosses are truly incredible, though, with multiple stages and fun modes to learn. The game is also stylish like all escape games, Mark cuphead This is a truly unique entry into the genre in every way. Get ready for a challenge, because this one won’t be messy.
Manhunt ($19.99)
Okay, let’s change the pace a little bit. hunt Sure, it focuses on the 1980s, but that’s more of an aesthetic choice than gameplay. This cyberpunk action game takes you through twenty neon-drenched levels, each ending in a vicious battle with a gang boss. Take them out, collect your bounty, and move on to the next one. A great game and a must-have runner action game. It’s also probably the coolest game on this list, which is saying something.
Kairo Blaster ($9.99)
I never miss an opportunity to recommend this game, and it fits right in here. This is another game that just does its own thing, but it does it extremely well. You are a frog who works for a very unusual cleaning service, and your job will take you through several dangerous environments. This comes from its creator cave story, which brings out all the charm of this game. You’ll definitely get a return on your money and time here.
Sega Genesis Classic ($29.99)
Aha! My second choice for cheating. I know I’m mean. This is mainly for two games: gunstar hero and alien soldier. There’s a bit of a lag in this series that might make these games harder, but even with that in mind, they’re still worth playing. After you’ve had your fill of these, you can also enjoy a pair of vector man games and some Tolerate game. Here are some other games you might want to play that aren’t run-and-gun (or run-and-gun shuriken). This is the most expensive option on this list, but it’s worth every penny.
Mechanical Destroyer Troops ($11.99)
maker of Gunner Clive Knows a thing or two about shooting action, like those games to Mega Man,is also like this Mechanical destruction power hats off Contra. You get some truly epic boss battles in this game, and I’m sure you’ve figured out by now that I tend to be attracted to games when they do a good job in this regard. Its vibrant visuals and high energy add to the fun, and who doesn’t love taking apart giant robots? There are some rough edges here, but the benefits easily outweigh the cons.
Super Robot ($6.99)
No bones, this game has Super C in its mind. In fact, sometimes it might be a little too close. But it’s clear about its purpose, and it’s a great value for money for those who want to play new games similar to the NES Contra game. I don’t have much to add here, but if you want some cheap run-and-gun excitement, this game will do the trick.
Elevator Action – Return – S-Tribute ($14.99)
name elevator action If anything, most likely reminiscent of the hit arcade original, this is indeed a great action game. I’m not sure I’d call it a run-and-gun game, though. Elevator action returns, on the other hand? It’s great run-and-gun fun that takes the original and upgrades it all into a unique and satisfying arcade action game. This version is a SEGA Saturn port, and unlike some other Saturn games on the Switch, it runs well enough for our purposes. do not miss it!
This is the group of people. What’s your favorite run-and-gun game on Nintendo Switch? Did we miss any of your favorite games on this list? I strongly encourage you to leave a comment and share your favorite games so we can all find more fun games to play. After all, that’s the point of this exercise. thanks for reading!
