The folks at Indiegogo are putting crowdfunding products to the test in our new series of honest reviews. In this issue, our own Asia Pacific campaign strategist Zoe Zu tries Litheli: electric utility vehicle with power bank, the new smart projector our crowdfunding community is talking about. Does it live up to the hype? Read on as we put it to the test!
To be honest, I lacked enthusiasm for this initiative when it first started. I mean, Litheli wasn’t the first activist to create a power bank, and they certainly didn’t invent the horse-drawn carriage. Nonetheless, the campaign generated a lot of interest on Indiegogo, especially from Jon, our CFO. Jon, whose son plays on the baseball team, saw the potential brilliance of having an electric utility van to transport all the necessary sports equipment and beverages. I also suspect that while he was pretending to watch the game, he was more interested in using tool batteries and power banks to charge his laptop and work.
Frankly speaking, I am not much of a sports person myself. However, as a 120 pound guy who works hard to build upper body muscles, if there was a product that could help me on camping trips and shopping at Costco, why not give it a try?
Unboxing and setup
The Litheli Wagon is delivered in a huge box which, frankly, is quite heavy! Inside the package, you’ll find the carriage itself, a versatile 2-in-1 tool battery and power bank, and a rolling table stored neatly in a durable black carry-on bag with safety hooks.
Taking it out of the box and unfolding it was a challenge for me, but I believe this is due to the high quality and sturdy materials used. I would give it a perfect 10 for its aesthetic appeal and the excellent quality of the materials. I particularly like the beige oxford fabric, which is not only stylish but also waterproof and easy to clean. The frame is very sturdy, ensuring it will last for many years and adapt to a variety of surfaces. While I know some people might prefer black or gray, I personally love beige!
Setup is very simple. Simply place the power bank into the designated slot, insert the security key, and press the security lock to release. Look! Power is on!
Features I appreciate:
Even with its considerable size and weight, it can be pulled easily: once activated, you will find the concept very impressive. As mentioned, Litheli didn’t invent the power bank or the caravan, but their creative and simple solution proved to be very useful. They even include a speed adjustment knob to control its movement. The rugged design plus all-terrain wheels allow it to be driven even on gravel surfaces.
The eWagon has an impressive weight capacity of up to 132 pounds and a volumetric capacity of 200 liters. We didn’t even need to use the safety hitch, but I’m confident that with it fully loaded it could easily transport all of our camping gear. In fact, I probably could have sat in a wagon and been transported to the campsite.
One of the outstanding advantages of this carriage is its excellent versatility. It’s versatile: you can choose to pull it without a power bank for a traditional experience, or for a little extra power. It’s more than just a wagon for transporting stuff; once you get to places like the campground or tailgate event, you’ll find an extra gift inside the box – a rolling table. By removing the four dowels in the corners, you can convert the van into a handy table.
In addition, the thoughtful design also extends to the mobile power supply. It can operate independently, providing a lifeline for charging your phone and laptop. This feature proves invaluable when you don’t want to carry an extra power bank.
I appreciate the high level of safety this carriage offers. To activate the power bank, you must first insert the security key and then pull while pressing the security key. This extra safety measure ensures ultra-safe operation, even suitable for teenagers.
Areas that can be improved:
I’m aiming for objectivity, but I have to admit, I’m totally obsessed with this product. Here are some standout features that push this wagon to 120 points out of 100:
Although no one in our family is left-handed, we did a test that required pulling a carriage with the left hand. For lefties, pulling and holding the safety button at the same time feels a bit awkward.
When trying to convert the eWagon into a table, you need to remove four pins located in the corners. This can be a bit difficult, so we resort to twigs. I guess it’s not hard to find a branch when you’re out camping, isn’t it?
in conclusion
Litheli boldly declares on their campaign page that they are pioneers in new energy power and tools with a mission to increase power flexibility and simplify tool use. With their electric utility vehicles equipped with power banks, I can confidently say that they have succeeded in this mission. Its versatility for sporting events, camping, grocery shopping, and various household tasks is truly commendable. Say goodbye to manual trucks and welcome the era of electric trucks with open arms!
