If you want, you can fly an ornithopter across the globe
While this isn’t the first movie tie-in offered by Microsoft Flight Simulator, Dune might not be the second one you were expecting. This required Microsoft to design not only the appearance of the Royal Atreides Ornithopter, but also its physics. The entirety of Arrakis has yet to be mapped, and once you’ve mastered the controls, you can attempt five time trials and rescue missions. If you do fall in love with an ornithopter, you can take it to Earth and confuse other pilots and flight controllers as it tours the sky. There’s also a contest to win a very nice Xbox Series S if you want to take part. Best of all, the extension is completely free.
