what you need to know
- The Make My List feature in Google Keep is designed to simplify the list-making process with minimal user input.
- It’s designed to start a variety of lists, such as shopping lists, to-do lists, and packing lists.
- An official launch date for the feature is uncertain, but once activated, Google Keep users will see a floating “Help me create a list” button in the app.
Google is trying out a new “Make a list for me” feature on Android for Keep, adding it to the list of Google services that rely on Gemini.
As the name suggests, this new feature helps you create detailed listings with minimal effort, as 9to5Google discovered. Google has previously mentioned that it’s designed to “help you quickly launch shopping lists, to-do lists, packing lists, and more.”
Like a slew of recent Google releases, the new list creation feature uses generative artificial intelligence and is powered by Gemini.
We’re not sure when the feature will officially end testing, but once it rolls out to Google Keep users, they’ll notice a handy “Help me create a list” button floating in the bottom right corner of the app. Just click on it and a text box will pop up where you can specify the type of list you want, such as what to pack for a road trip or a camping checklist for a family adventure.
As always, it’s wise to avoid sharing your sensitive or personal information, as human reviewers may view the data.
Google recommends providing specific details for better results, and you can agree or disagree with the feedback. If you want to go to a specific place or with a specific number of people, just tell Keep and it will generate results based on those specific circumstances.
If you’re happy with the results, just click the “Insert” button at the bottom to turn the resulting list into your to-do list.
We’ve long known about the “Help me write” features in Google Workspace apps like Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Meet, but these were only available on the web. According to 9to5 , Keep’s AI list creation feature will join the “Write for Me” feature in Gmail, becoming the only Gemini-powered feature available on mobile devices.
