The history of the Honor MagicBook 16 dates back to September, when its first members debuted in China. However, MWC 2024 brings us a brand new product that will also be available globally. The MagicBook 16 Pro version is in our office and we thought we’d give it a quick unboxing before we start reviewing it.
Even though Honor doesn’t have a long history of making laptops, the company’s recent releases are quite competitive in terms of price and the package is excellent.
The 16 Pro runs a powerful Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor paired with an Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU and 32GB of RAM. Keep in mind that the RAM is soldered, so make sure you order the correct RAM as you won’t be able to upgrade it later. Of course, the SSD is user-replaceable, in our case it’s 1TB.
The laptop also comes with an impressive screen – an LCD IPS panel that runs at 144Hz and offers at least 300 nits of brightness. Paired with the powerful Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU, the notebook promises solid gaming performance.
I/O is good too – 2x USB-C 3.2, 2x USB-A 3.2, a full-size HDMI 2.0 port, and a headphone jack. The laptop charges at up to 65W via one of its USB-C ports. The battery capacity is 56Wh, which isn’t much for a 16-inch device, but we’ll be sure to test how it performs in real life.
The MagicBook 16 Pro weighs 1.86 kg, which is not bad for a 16-inch laptop, especially one with a discrete GPU.
