It should cost $549-$599, but we’ll see
The RX 7900 GRE was initially targeted only at the Chinese market, but is now sold globally. On paper, the card looks very similar to the RX 6950, but uses RDNA 3 instead of RDNA 2, the L3 cache is halved to 64 MB, and the transistor count is significantly increased. The frequency, 1880 MHz Game and 2245 MHz Boost of the RX 7900 GRE are also lower than the RX 6950, which also means that the power has been significantly reduced, from 335W to 260W.
Sebastian’s tests show that the Sapphire model is faster than the older RX 6950, often swapping places with the RTX 4070 SUPER. FPS Review also had the opportunity to test the card and even successfully overclocked it, increasing the clock frequency by 6%. Their tests cover a lot of games we don’t have, so if you’re playing Avatar or Assassin’s Creed it’s definitely worth a look. The RX 7900 GRE should be able to handle any game you run at 1440p, and with all the bells and whistles turned on, you should be able to enjoy 4K if you upgrade with FSR.
