long story short
- Wear OS gets some handy features.
- The wearable operating system will now allow users to access passes stored in Google Wallet.
- Users can finally view public transportation routes on Google Maps for Wear OS.
Back in January, Google added the ability to get airline boarding passes to the Wear OS platform. Now, the company is rolling out two more features to give your smartwatch even more functionality.
Starting today, owners of Wear OS smartwatches will be able to access more than just airline boarding passes, Google says. Wear OS now allows users to access event tickets, gym memberships, loyalty cards and more from their wrist.
Getting more passes isn’t the only update coming to Wear OS today. The company also announced transportation routes for Google Maps on Wear OS.
As the tech giant explains, you’ll be able to view public transport routes from your wrist. The new feature will also show you departure times and compass-guided navigation directions.
With these two features, there are even fewer reasons to take your phone out of your pocket. They should help you streamline your payment process and find solutions. If you want to spend less time looking at your phone screen, this should also help you a lot with your tasks.
