final thoughts
That’s it, a quick review of what actually launched in China six months ago and is now used to improve AMD’s global Radeon product offerings in RDNA 3 generation. It’s $50 more expensive than the Radeon RX 7800 XT (list price), but it offers a lot without covering any new ground – especially for Radeon RX 6950 XT owners.
This Radeon RX 7900 GRE launch is more about availability and pricing than anything else, and now that the RX 6950 XT seems to be finally gone, it makes sense to launch a Golden Rabbit Edition. In fact, the 6950 XT was only recently available at the same price as the 7900 GRE, $549, but as I write this, Newegg says these cards are now “out of stock.”
In terms of pricing, the Sapphire range will look like this at launch:
- PulseRX 7900 GRE: $549
- PURE RX 7900 GRE: $569 (reviewed)
- NITRO+ RX 7900 GRE: $599
