Samsung expands Knox to 2024 smart TVs

Samsung Knox has been part of Samsung devices for the past decade, and now the Korean company has announced that the data security framework is being extended to its 2024 TVs.

The platform once again received Common Criteria (CC) certification, the global benchmark for evaluating the security integrity of IT products. This essentially means that smart connected TVs will also be protected in the future.

This CC certification means that Samsung Knox will perform well in three core functions. The first is Tizen OS monitoring, a platform that proactively detects potential hacking threats at the heart of Samsung TVs in real time.

The second is phishing website blocking, where Knox will verify that a web page is safe to browse without posing a threat to user data and privacy. The third essentially guarantees that all personal data on Knox Vault, a dedicated security processor, will be protected.
