“It took me a while to realize the idea…but it’s amazing, isn’t it?”

“It might taste good, but not psychologically.”

“I’m Colombian and I’m not happy with this, it’s not the right cheese.”

“White cheese in coffee is truly the best! (Brazilian thing)”

“Asian coffee shops put salted cream in their coffee and I love it. I’ve never seen this but it actually probably tastes good too.”

“It’s also a Puerto Rican thing.”

Mixing cheese and chocolate is nothing new to Colombians. Traditionally, they enjoy this combination in the form of a hot drink called “Chocolate San Ferreno” or “Chocolate Complex”. It’s usually made from a dark chocolate bar that’s flavored with cinnamon and cloves. Stir the chocolate with the milk/water in a ball-shaped jug called a “chocolate”. The egg beater used is also a special egg beater. Boil the mixture three times. Just before the hot chocolate is ready to be enjoyed, a white cheese (queso Campesino) is added to the hot chocolate.
