- The design elements of the device appear to be heavily inspired by the latest Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The first possible renders of the next-generation Galaxy foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, have surfaced online, showing off the device from every angle, including the camera system on the back.
Leaks come from prolific tipster Steve HemmerstorferAlso known as OnLeaks, in partnership with Smartprix, it has revealed a new avatar and a black hue for the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which is said to be Phantom Black.
The foldable phone has flat edges on all sides. However, unlike its predecessor Galaxy Z Fold 5, the device does not have rounded corners. Instead, as the renderings suggest, it opts for sharp edges.
It bears some resemblance to the recent Galaxy S24 Ultra model, especially the corners of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in the renders. They also showed off the device in its unfolded state, showing off the display and the device, which appears to be a giant rectangular slab.
Moving towards the bottom of the device in the render, we can see a similar port layout to its predecessor, including the speaker grille, USB-C port, and microphone. Other similar button placements include the volume rocker, fingerprint-embedded lock button, and native SIM card slot.
On the back, the renders show a triple-camera system housed in a separate camera hood, while the LED flash is placed separately. The front cover screen has a built-in selfie camera, and the foldable screen achieves under-screen transparency.
In terms of screen, Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to be equipped with a 6.2-inch cover screen and a 7.6-inch foldable screen. These are likely to be 120Hz high refresh rate screens with dynamic AMOLED displays and peak brightness of up to 2,600 nits. Samsung is also rumored to use ultra-thin glass on the foldable screen, and the top of the covering screen will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.
Similar to the Galaxy S24 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 may be powered by the Galaxy Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. In terms of optics, we won’t see any major changes compared to its predecessor, which included a 50MP main sensor supplemented by 12MP and 10MP shooters. The under-screen camera will feature a 4MP camera, while the overlay screen will feature a 10MP sensor.
After the successful launch of the Galaxy S24 series, in addition to the new Galaxy Ring, Samsung’s next big release to look forward to is the foldable series, and the new Galaxy Ring should be launched earlier than expected. Even at the ongoing MWC 2024, Samsung started teasing and showing off this wearable device. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to be released sometime in July 2024. With its first renders now surfaced, we expect to see more of it in the coming months.
