The Fitbit app is the same across all devices and models, so whether you have a Fitbit Charge, Inspire, or any other device, you can follow the same steps. The Today tab is where you’ll find the most useful features, so it’s the first one that appears when you open the app. Here’s how to harness its power.


How to edit what the Fitbit Today tab displays

  1. On the Today screen, click edit.
  2. Click on the circle with ‘X‘ symbol next to indicators you don’t want to see.
  3. tap complete.

How to edit the order of indicators in the Today tab

  1. On the Today screen, click edit.
  2. Drag the indicator tiles into the order you want them to appear.
  3. tap complete.

The top of the Fitbit Today tab will display five metrics, and you can choose from Steps, Floors, Distance, Calories Burned, and Active Minutes. To change which metrics are displayed, you need to uncheck the metrics you don’t want to display. You cannot exchange indicators.

If your Fitbit doesn’t include an altimeter, you won’t see floors climbed.

  2. Click on that section and then click on+‘ icon in the upper right corner of the menu.

Fitbit offers a choice of five main goals: steps, distance, calories burned, active zone minutes, and floors climbed. To choose one you want to focus on:

  1. Click the Account icon in the upper left corner of the Today tab.
  2. Click on your Fitbit tracker.

Climbing floors is only available as an option on Fitbit trackers equipped with an altimeter.


How to manually sync your Fitbit

  3. Scroll down until you see Sync now.
  4. You can also activate Sync throughout the dayensuring your Fitbit syncs automatically.

Some Fitbit devices will notify you if they detect a high or low heart rate above normal thresholds when you’ve been inactive for 10 minutes. You can use thresholds based on your age or set a custom high or low heart rate.
