Hayden Christensen on killing Jedi toddlers

Like Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith or not, this may be the boldest episode in the Skywalker saga, an epic tragedy with some surprising twists and turns, such as A group of children are massacred by the main character, Anakin Skywalker. Now, actor Hayden Christensen is detailing what went on behind the scenes.

As part of Empire’s super-extensive review of the Star Wars prequels released earlier this month, we’ve got some interviews with some of the biggest names involved in the making of these films, chief among them Hayden Kristen Sen. For die-hard fans of the prequels, the entire book is an amazing read, but the part about scaring the child actors playing the Jedi cubs is especially hilarious.

The interviewer rightly points out that the (implied) massacre of the younglings at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant is probably one of the strongest moments in the movie, and even if we’d been getting something like that, Disney probably wouldn’t have done it. Something like the entire Andor series in recent years. According to Christensen, the children who met him seemed to have no memory of that horrific moment: “There was no fear or intimidation. They were just happy to see Anakin.”

However, he did feel bad about having to scare the child actors into a bit of a surprise before filming the scene: “When we were filming the scene, we were having a hard time getting the reaction we wanted from the kids. So I yelled at him, Or growl, because we needed a moment where he was really frightened. It got the response we needed, which made that scene very effective.” In fact, the scariest moment of the film that really sells it is when Anakin (Darth The little “jump” a child makes when Vader ignites his lightsaber. Still, it’s fun to imagine Christensen freaking out a bunch of kids before the cameras start rolling again.

If you missed the Star Wars movies after the Disney+ series took a longer-than-planned break, you’ll be happy to know that The Mandalorian vs. Grogu movie and Daisy Ridley-starring Episode 9 The sequels are now very popular. Close to the shot.
