long story short
- Moto X50 Ultra teased by Motorola in China.
- The device is called an “artificial intelligence phone” and appears to have a faux leather back.
Motorola’s flagship phones have improved significantly over the past few generations. In fact, we called the Motorola Edge Plus 2023 the company’s best flagship in years. However, the brand seems to have another high-end phone in the pipeline.
Motorola posted a video teaser of what it calls the Moto X50 Ultra on its Weibo account. The F1-themed video calls the phone an “AI phone.” Check out the clip below.
Motorola is joining Samsung in marketing its phone as an AI-focused device, but the Chinese brand has yet to delve into what makes the phone an AI phone. We’re guessing the device will have similar features to rival phones. Therefore, text summarization and AI-based photo editing tools seem to be a safe bet.
We’ve also seen brief glimpses of the phone, but in most photos, the camera housing is black. However, it does look like the Moto X50 Ultra will come with a leather back panel.
There’s no word on specs yet, but you have to assume that the device will surpass the Edge Plus 2023 in several areas. We’d particularly like to see better camera zoom capabilities, as a large number of high-end phones will be equipped with high-resolution periscope cameras in 2024.
The Moto X50 Ultra currently looks like it will only be released in China, but it’s not uncommon for Motorola to release these devices under new names in global markets. So fingers crossed for a wider release.
