Spotify has had audiobooks available for some time, but had no dedicated plans. Today, that changes with the launch of a new subscription tier for audiobook access. For $9.99, you can listen to 15 hours of audiobooks.
Maybe that sounds great, but consider that the Spotify Premium plan is only $1 more, at $10.99. return Lets you listen to 15 hours of audiobooks, but best of all, you also get ad-free music and podcasts—a perk missing from the audiobook access tier. If you want to enjoy music without ads, then choosing the premium version seems like a no-brainer.
But for those of you who’ve been waiting for an audiobook-only plan, there’s now one.
Spotify says that since launching audiobooks in Premium, it has seen “45% more free users searching for and interacting with audiobook content every day.” This prompted this.
The audiobook access tier is currently only available in the United States. Spotify’s audiobook catalog exceeds 200,000 titles.
