So I’m here to share some good news. Toys For Bob, the studio behind Crash Bandicoot 4 and the remastered version Sparrow Collection, is leaving Activision and becoming an independent studio.
in a February 29 Blog Post On its official website, studio heads Paul Yan and Avery Lodato announced that Toys For Bob will be spun off into an independent game development studio.
“We believe now is the time to take the studio and our future games to the next level,” Yan and Lodato explained in the post. “This opportunity takes us back to our roots as a small, flexible studio.”
The blog post also announced that Toys For Bob is “exploring” a partnership with Microsoft. But don’t expect the studio to release its next game anytime soon. The head of Toys For Bob made it clear that the company is still in the “early stages” of developing its next game and is “still a long way off” from announcing anything about it.
“Our friends at Activision and Microsoft are very supportive of our new direction, and we believe we will continue to work closely together to create our future,” said Yan and Lodato. “So, stay tuned for more news.
