Voice Access gets support for custom voice commands and multi-monitor setups

As an accessibility feature, you can control your Windows 11 computer with voice access. With this update, Voice Access will gain support for custom voice commands. You can assign specific voice commands to different tasks, such as pasting tests, launching apps, and pressing key combinations.

Voice Access also supports multi-monitor setups so you can quickly move across screens.

Other significant changes

In addition to the above, Microsoft is improving several other parts of the Windows 11 experience:

  • Smart Snapshot Recommendations: Windows can now snapshot your applications based on your usage history. If you frequently use two apps side by side, Windows 11 will suggest app combinations in this configuration.
  • Widgets: Windows will let you hide your news feed and organize your widgets the way you want.
  • Windows Ink: You can now use the stylus to write directly on text fields, just like on iPadOS.
  • Share content with more third-party apps: Windows 11 now allows file sharing with other apps like WhatsApp, Snapchat, and Instagram, and support for Facebook Messenger is coming soon.

Windows 11 Moment 5 update: Rolling out

These new features will appear in Windows 11 through a combination of application updates and system updates. The rollout has begun, but it may take a while to reach all users. Microsoft will make these features available to eligible devices running Windows 11 version 22H2 or 23H2 later this month via an optional non-security update. Most of these features should be widely available when the April 2024 security update is released.
