Inspired by the excitement of Formula 1 racing, Motorola is ramping up promotions for its upcoming phone, the Moto X50 Ultra. But the company’s latest trailer isn’t just about speed; It’s all about the powerful artificial intelligence behind the scenes.
In a teaser video posted on Weibo, Motorola shows off a Formula 1 car, but the real star is the focus on artificial intelligence. A quick sneak peek of the phone shows off a plastic leather back and a discreetly placed camera in the top left corner (via MySmartPrice).
The mysterious Weibo post also links the Moto X50 Ultra to the F1 Chinese Grand Prix on April 21. It seems that Motorola may also be planning to hold a large Moto X50 Ultra launch event at that time.
Initially, the Moto X50 Ultra appears to be exclusive to China at launch, but don’t be surprised if it makes its way to the global stage later on. Motorola has a habit of giving its competitors’ best Android phones a new name when they hit international markets, usually lumping them into the Edge series.
Last year, the Moto X40 was first launched in China and, after some tweaks, eventually went global as the Moto Edge 40 Pro. Following this trend, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Moto X50 Ultra gets a global makeover, likely to become the Motorola Edge 50 Pro.
According to previous rumors, the device may come with a 4,500mAh battery that will bring some decent charging speeds via 125W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Following Samsung, Motorola has also jumped on the AI bandwagon, promoting its phones as AI-focused. While the Chinese brand hasn’t revealed exactly how its AI-powered phone will work, we’re betting on familiar features like text summarization, real-time translation, and AI-based photo editing tools.
Specs are still under wraps, but it’s a safe bet that the device will surpass the 2023 Edge Plus in several areas. Interestingly, there has never been an Ultra version in the X-Series lineup so far, making it the first X model to carry that moniker.
As excitement continues to build, we expect more teasers and information about upcoming Motorola phones to be released in the days leading up to the event. It looks like artificial intelligence will steal the show at this year’s phone launches, surpassing the innovations we saw last year.
