Today, a new rumor posted by a leaker on X (formerly known as Twitter) has some bad news for those who aren’t fans of Samsung’s Exynos chipset range. According to the source, at the current stage of development, Samsung plans to use its Exynos SoC across the entire Galaxy S25 series — given the history, we assume that means the yet-to-be-released Exynos 2500.
This is all models in all countries, everywhere. The Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, on the other hand, will only use Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets (presumably 8th generation 4), while the entry-level and mid-range Galaxy A series will use a mix of SoCs from MediaTek and Samsung in 2025.
So currently Samsung phones in 2025 will be:
Galaxy Z – Snapdragon only
Galaxy S – Exynos only
Galaxy A – MediaTek and Exynos— Connor/Connor (@OreXda) March 1, 2024
The launch of these devices is still far away and we would like to remind you to be careful when using this device, especially since it has not been “confirmed” by any other source (rumor or not).
Even if all of this is true and does succeed, keep in mind that we still don’t know exactly what the Exynos 2500 is capable of. Maybe it will eventually surpass the Snapdragon 8 series? We’ve seen some weird stuff in this mobile world in the past, so don’t rule it out completely.
Then again, if this were to happen, why would foldable devices be “punished” for having Snapdragon? We can’t say that this strategy makes sense to us, but we can say the same thing about the current Exynos-Snapdragon split in the Galaxy S24 lineup.
