Mobile World Congress 2024 is over and the promise of several exciting announcements and new technologies is just around the corner. If you haven’t been following the daily updates (or need a refresher), you can check out our MWC 2024 wrap-up article for a quick overview of the event.
What’s your favorite new device at this year’s conference? Let’s vote. We divide devices into several categories: flagship, mid-range, entry-level, and other.
Most manufacturers launch their new flagships in December and January, but some hold off until MWC. Well, some of these aren’t exactly brand new, but we’re counting announcements of global availability.
Beyond the charm and cutting-edge technology of flagships, mid-range products may be the most interesting product category this year. Yes, the €1,500+ phone has great hardware. But most buyers won’t spend that much. However, now even those buying mid-range products can afford a clamshell foldable phone, a phone with an LTPO display, or a phone with a 108MP camera.
The entry-level section is also interesting. There are weird devices with big speakers, there are devices with 70W fast charging, there are big high refresh rate AMOLED displays, and even 5G is common.
This is a category for things that don’t fit elsewhere. MWC 2024 unveiled more details on smart watches, smart rings, and even new AR/XR products. Not enough to form its own category, but too interesting to skip.
