One of my favorite games last year was sonic dream team, developed by Hardlight and published exclusively for Apple Arcade. It pissed off a lot of people at the time because the game, intentionally or not, felt like a throwback to the original days of 3D Sonic games on the Dreamcast, and it featured a lot of fan-favorite characters that weren’t often seen in other games.Putting all this behind the requirement that you have Apple Arcade to play is the annoying part, but no matter how you feel about it sonic dream team is a fantastic new 3D Sonic game that’s harder to get than it looks. We loved it in our review and selected it as our game of the week when it launched last December.
The only real complaint I’ve seen besides being tied to Apple Arcade sonic dream team It’s just that the content is a bit lacking. I can see where this is going if you just breeze through the game, but there’s a lot of value in going back and finding all the collectibles and stuff, some of which are very well hidden. There are also weekly Tail Challenges, supported by leaderboards, which remix existing level layouts and challenges to give you something new to do every week. That’s good…but there could be more.
Well, this afternoon, there will be more.First major content update sonic dream team It’s here as I type this. It will add time trials to each level so you can compete online for the fastest time in all normal activity levels. It will also include 8 new boss missions as well as improved boss battles. Another minor criticism of the original version was the oversimplified and somewhat boring boss battles, so hopefully this helps on that front. Finally, a ranking system has now been implemented in the main campaign levels so that you can speed through the game. We have to go quickly! Expect this new update to be live soon (if it’s not already live by the time you read this).
