Jazz and Tech Valley launch ‘Digital Safar’ to teach coding and internet safety to 300,000 Pakistani students

Islamabad, March 6 (APP): Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital operator, has formed a strategic alliance with Tech Valley, a Google for Education partner, to launch the “Digital Safar” program across Pakistan. This groundbreaking initiative aims to teach more than 300,000 students basic coding skills and basic internet safety knowledge to prepare them for the digital future.

Empowering youth through digital education

The “Digital Safar” program combines two of Google’s flagship programs – “Google CS First” for coding and “Be Internet Awesome” for online security. Designed to be interactive and accessible, the course, aimed at students aged 8 to 14, offers a combination of online modules and practical activities to promote computational thinking, digital citizenship and safe internet practices. Syed Fakhar Ahmed, Chief Corporate & Regulatory Affairs Officer, Jazz, highlighted the importance of digital education and online safety as a fundamental right of every child and underscored the partnership’s commitment to nurturing the youth of digitally empowered Pakistan.

Digital Literacy Collaborative Efforts

Umar Farooq, CEO of Pakistan Tech Valley, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stressing that the project aims to make learning fun and engaging while providing students with critical digital skills. Following a successful partnership with The Citizenship Foundation (TCF) in 2021 to digitally transform 1,652 TCF schools in Pakistan and AJK and train 266,000 students, this partnership marks the latest in Jazz’s ongoing efforts to improve the digital literacy of children in Pakistan extend. With Tech Valley’s expertise in designing impactful education programs and Google’s support in addressing internet safety and upskilling youth, ‘Digital Safar’ is expected to make significant strides in digital education in Islamabad schools.
