Today, during the Xbox Partner Preview, Capcom showed off new gameplay footage of the Japanese-inspired world Kunitsujin: Path of the Goddess.
Announced at last year’s Xbox Game Showcase, in this single-player action game you play protagonist Soh, whose sworn duty is to save the villagers and restore peace along with Yoshiro, the mountain girl. To do this, you will do your best to cleanse the filth that has infected the land of Kafu Mountain and its inhabitants.

The story begins when the legendary mountain is covered in evil filth and twelve masks with special powers are stolen. Soh will work with Yoshiro and her divine powers to cleanse the village of filth.
To do this and protect Yoshiro, you and the villagers will wear masks, each with a different divine power. As you clear more villages of their filth, you’ll restore more masks and work with individual villagers with each mask unlocked to restore Mount Kafu to its original beauty.
To purify the filth, you and Yoshiro will perform a Shinto ritual dance passed down from generation to generation called Kagura in your own unique way.

Combined with a real-time day and night cycle, during the day you will rescue villagers, assign them roles, and repair their defenses in preparation for battle. As night falls, you’ll fight the terrifying monsters “Seethe”, who take on many different demonic shapes and forms. These monsters will appear from the torii gate and attack Yoshiro.
As you defend the Maiden, you’ll repeat this day and night cycle to cleanse the filth and restore peace to the land. You’ll also learn to adapt to changing combat conditions, fight alongside villagers, and wield the power of swordplay in a blend of real-time strategy and action gameplay.
Kunitsu no Mi: Path of the Goddess will launch later this year on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. It will also launch day one on Game Pass for PC and Series X/S.
