Verizon sure knows how to get your attention. Every MAR10 (March 10), Nintendo celebrates the Mario franchise with special offers and promotions, and this year Verizon decided to jump on the bandwagon and offer a free Nintendo Switch to customers who sign up for the Home Plus Internet plan. Plus, you’ll get a $200 Target e-gift card or a Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Go. This is a pretty sweet promotion, but not everyone will qualify, and there are a few things to keep in mind.
The most important thing to note is that not every home has access to Verizon Home Plus Internet. You can check whether the service is available at your address by plugging it into Verizon’s search bar. To take advantage of the promotion, you need to choose to sign up for 5G Home Plus or LTE Home Plus. The 5G Home Plus Internet plan costs $80 per month ($70 with autopay), or $45 if you’re an existing Verizon Mobile customer. LTE Home Plus is priced the same as 5G Home Plus, but has a different top speed. The speeds and plans you can receive vary by address.
How to get a free Nintendo Switch from Verizon
To qualify for Nintendo Switch, you must be a new Verizon Home Internet customer. If you’re under contract with your current internet provider, Verizon will pay you an early cancellation fee of up to $500. The Nintendo Switch deal is valid throughout March, or until Verizon’s Nintendo Switch sells out.
You will need to activate and maintain your internet plan for 65 days, at which time you will have 60 days to redeem your Nintendo Switch (or no later than August 31, 2024, whichever comes first). At that point, you must keep the plan for 180 days before canceling, and Verizon won’t charge you the $299.99 gaming system fee.
You can also buy it at Target for $200, or a laptop
The icing on the cake for this deal is that you can also choose a $200 Target e-gift card or a Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Go. Both promotions will last a bit longer than the Nintendo Switch one, with an end date of April 10th.
If you’re interested in a $200 Target e-gift card, you’ll have to follow the same rules as the Switch, but you’ll have until September 10 to claim your prize. This information will be sent via email within 48 hours of signing up with Verizon. The rules are the same if you choose the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Go, but that freebie also lets you choose Fios 1 Gig or Fios 2 Gig internet service (although you won’t get a free Nintendo if you choose Fios).
