Florida man arrested in Weld County on suspicion of internet child luring

WELD COUNTY, Colo. — A Florida man has been arrested in Weld County on suspicion of internet solicitation and other charges, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Joel Kaufman, 47, was arrested on the following charges:

  • two counts of criminal attempt to commit a Class 5 or 6 felony
  • Two counts of child luring – human trafficking
  • Two counts of online child luring
  • Two counts of online sexual exploitation of a child

Kaufman traveled from Florida “allegedly expecting to have sexual intercourse with girls as young as 10 and 14 years old,” according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Kaufman was booked into the Weld County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
