Well, another patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 was released yesterday, and I’m sorry to say that it and its predecessor, Patch 20, don’t seem to mark the end of the series of minor issues plaguing poor Minthara. . In fact, this latest update appears to have introduced changes to her romance arc, and players are desperately trying to rationalize the change.
Yeah, with patch 6 and all of its new stuff coming (some of it having to do with kissing people on the fly), it’s a tough time being a big supporter of your companions and I just refuse to stop mentioning it as if she’s toothpaste (to be fair That said, Larian did it first). What happened this time? Well, they’re all busy trying to figure out why they were rejected by the upper class drow.

Seriously though, Patch 21, of which you can find the full notes here, seems to have tweaked poor Mintara so that she will immediately end any Dark Impulsive character she dates if they choose to reject Baal and redeem themselves Own. That said, in a weird twist, at least one person seems to report that they were still able to kiss after she flat-out told them that she was done with them, that the romance was dead, and that nothing would ever happen companion. No more sleeping together, as you can see in the clip below.

“You turned down glory, and I turned you down.” Oh, tell me how you really feel, Mindy. Ironically, this change is exactly what many dark promoters are doing on the BG3 subreddit, and the big question that prompted the lawsuit is – is this a change in Minthara’s character, or maybe even a bug fix? Is this stopping her from following what she’s truly been feeling all along?
There are clues on both sides, and you can tell people mean business because someone decided it was necessary to copy and paste the description of Bhaal from the D&D wiki into their wiki. The crux of the matter seems to be that – as she hinted in her brief speech – the idea of pursuing power means so much to Mindy that she’s willing to ignore anything that might prevent someone from wanting to take sides with Barr Together, maybe a bit of a hypocrite.
Who is here? I’m not sure, as it may depend on your personal interpretation of Mintara’s goals, but Larian does seem to want to consider giving those poor redeemed Degees a chance to convince her not to leave them as soon as they leave their poor bottom. Choose the path of redemption.
In other BG3-related news, the game was recently nominated for multiple categories at the BAFTA Game Awards.
