OnePlus has chosen a rather interesting date to launch a new smartphone – the OnePlus Nord CE 4 . The device will be available on April 1, and according to the press release, it will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor.
The OnePlus Nord CE 4 will succeed the OnePlus Nord CE 3 5G and Nord CE 2 as the new budget device in the company’s mid-range lineup. Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 should also give the Nord CE 4 an edge over the Snapdragon 782G SoC that powered its predecessor. First announced in November, the processor is powered by a Kryo CPU with one main core clocked at 2.63GHz, three performance cores clocked at 2.4GHz, and four high-efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz. We recently saw vivo launch the V30 powered by the same processor.
OnePlus said that compared with Nord CE 3, Nord CE 4 has a 15% improvement in CPU performance, a 50% improvement in GPU performance, and a 20% improvement in power saving.
The company also shared an image showing the phone’s rear panel with a triple rear camera setup (see above). In addition, OnePlus also confirmed that the CE 4 will be available in Dark Chrome and Celadon Marble color options.
According to previous reports, the OnePlus Nord CE 4 may be the same phone as the OPPO K12 expected to be launched in China. Rumored information also suggested that the phone would be powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, and with OnePlus confirming it, it seems more likely that the leaks are accurate. In view of this, Nord CE 4 is expected to come with 100W charging function. Unfortunately, we don’t know much about the phone’s other specs.
Meanwhile, OnePlus is also reportedly preparing to launch the Nord 4, which will be a more premium phone compared to the Nord CE 4. You can read all the rumored specs and features about the OnePlus Nord 4 here.
