Sony is currently launching three smartphones for 2024 – the Xperia 1 VI absolute flagship, the 5 VI compact flagship and the 10 VI mid-range phone. Today, the RAM quantity options that all three products will come with have been leaked.
Let’s start with the Xperia 1 VI. You can choose between 12GB or 16GB RAM. The former’s numbers are comparable to those of the Xperia 1 V, while the latter’s are a step further.
Next up is the Xperia 5 VI. It only comes with 8GB of RAM, the same amount of memory as in the Xperia 5 V, which is pretty disappointing for a device with flagship specs – 8GB of RAM is currently mid-range at best.
Finally, the Xperia 10 VI will come in two versions. The entry-level model must come with 6GB RAM, while there is also an 8GB option. This only further highlights the problem that the 5 VI only has 8GB of RAM – which is about the same as any other mid-range phone from the Japanese company.
Last year, there were rumors that the Xperia 1 VI would debut at MWC Barcelona, but there was no announcement, not even a presence at Sony’s booth. So, it’s unclear when the company’s next smartphone will go official, but we’ll certainly let you know when we learn more.
