The Super Mario Bros. Movie Is Getting a Sequel, Which Surprises Absolutely No One

Miyamoto went on to say that “the Illumination team that worked on the Super Mario Bros. movies are also working on this new movie with Nintendo.” Miyamoto then handed the microphone to Illumination CEO Chris Mellor. Chris Meledandri, who said the first film’s directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic and the staff at Paris Illumination Studios “have been busy working on storyboarding scenes , and developing background designs for the new environment.
