There are not many smart speakers on the market that support both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, and this is one of the reasons. JBL Authentics 300 stand out. Unfortunately, it’s pricey at full retail price of $449.99, but Amazon is currently selling this portable smart speaker for an all-time low of $278 ($172 off).
The midrange 300 can listen for the wake word of both virtual assistants and deliver powerful, undistorted sound at higher volumes, making it even better than the new Sonos Move 2. It also lets you play music over Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or via Bluetooth. Auxiliary jack or USB-C, it features a convenient knob to easily adjust the equalizer. The speaker also has a ’70s-inspired vibe, with faux black leather, tasteful gold accents, and a patterned acoustic fabric front that looks cool, too. Sure, it weighs 11 pounds, but at least it comes with a carrying handle and a built-in battery so you can take it with you when you need it.
Mario Day may be over, but some of the sales retailers put out in its honor still have stock. For example, right now, when you buy a Nintendo Switch OLED, Nintendo Switch, or Nintendo Switch Lite at Best Buy, you can get a $25 Best Buy gift card. You can also get a $25 Amazon gift card at Amazon when you buy a Nintendo Switch (use promo code New South Wales NEON25) or the smaller Nintendo Switch Lite (with code New South Wales 25). You can also use your $25 gift card to purchase a variety of Switch games, including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Edition (Amazon, Best Buy), Mario + Rabbids spark of hope (Amazon, Best Buy), and several other heavily discounted titles.
A sequel may be in development for the Nintendo Switch, but if you can’t wait until next year, the current Switch lineup still has a rich catalog, with more games coming soon. Each console is great for gaming on the go, especially the latest model, which features a crisp 7-inch OLED panel. You can even connect the standard Switch and Switch OLED to your TV, and both have adjustable stands (the Switch OLED is sturdier, though).
