Play Console reveals that Tecno Pova 6 will have the same overall design and Helio G99 chipset

Launched at MWC a few weeks ago, the Tecno Pova 6 Pro features a Dimensity 6080, a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED display and a 6,000mAh battery with 70W fast charging support. Now, a regular mockup has appeared on Google Play Console.

The Tecno Pova 6 (model number LI7) will be a 4G-only phone (while the Pro supports 5G connectivity). This uses the MT6789/CD chipset, corresponding to the Helio G99. It comes standard with 8GB of RAM, but there will apparently be a 12GB version as well. Storage capacity is up to 256GB (as indicated on the label).

Additionally, the console’s screen resolution is 1,080 x 2,436px – exactly the same as the Pova 6 Pro. Since the overall dimensions of the phone are the same (as we’ll see shortly), the screen diagonals should also be the same. But it’s unclear whether we’re still considering a 120Hz AMOLED panel (the G99 chip supports a 120Hz FHD+ display, so that shouldn’t be a limitation).

FCC documents confirm this is a 4G device. They also offer a look at the back, which has the same styling as the Pro model. Additionally, the documentation reveals that the regular model will feature the same 6,000mAh battery (listed as 5,850mAh) with 70W charging power (20V, 3.5A).

The dimensions of the Tecno Pova 6 are 166 x 76 x 8mm, which is basically the same as the Pro model. In addition to a more powerful 5G chipset, the Pro also has a 108MP main camera and a 32MP selfie camera. Whether these features will survive the transition from Pro to regular is unclear. The Pova 5 (also using the Helio G99) is very similar to the Pova 5 Pro.
