long story short

  • Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 specs and features may have leaked online today.
  • The specs suggest that this is a flagship foldable phone with some nifty features.

The Xiaomi Mix Fold series of foldable phones have long been limited to the Chinese market, but recently a whistleblower claimed that Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 may be released globally. Now, a longtime leaker has released various specs for the new foldable.

Digital Chat Station posted the specifications of the foldable phone on Weibo. The leaker doesn’t specifically say this is the Mix Fold 4, but they usually use a tilde (“~”) at the end of their posts to indicate they’re talking about a Xiaomi product. So, it seems only natural that these are the specs of the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4.

The source claims that the foldable phone features a strengthened design, an improved hinge, and a potentially flatter folding screen (with less noticeable creases on the surface). But the details don’t end there.

Digital Chat Station adds that the device is being tested with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 16GB of RAM, 1TB of storage (a smaller storage variant is possible), a 5,000mAh or larger battery, 100W wired charging, and wireless charging support. .

The leaker also claims that the foldable phone has a 50MP main camera with a fixed wide aperture and a new periscope camera. We’re excited to see a new periscope camera that will hopefully replace the Mix Fold 3’s 5x 10MP sensor with a higher-resolution camera for improved long-range zoom.

Interestingly, the phone is believed to feature two-way satellite communication and be water-resistant. We’re guessing the former is limited to the Chinese market. After all, there are very few Android phones around the world that feature one-way satellite communications. Still, water resistance would be a great addition, joining the ranks of foldable phones from the likes of Huawei, Samsung, and Google.
