Adapting Frank “Dirty” Herbert’s sand epic Dune has been a long and arduous road, but with the recent release of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune 2, we can safely call it done . I just hope we get enough sequels that the movies can start covering crap like half-worm emperors and chair dogs.
In addition to Dune’s various video game adaptations, from classic RTS games to upcoming modern survival games, there are a slew of games that effectively exploit the desolation and devastation of the desert. Who can forget the riveting third act of Uncharted 3, the Tatooine portion of Kotor, or the ambitious recreation of sun-drenched North Africa in Assassin’s Creed: Origins?
But which sandlot game is the best, according to our lovely panel? If Alex Donaldson had appeared in this episode, he would have chosen Fifty Cent: Blood on the Beach, but he didn’t. To see what’s being pitched in action, listen to the Best Gaming Podcast Ever!
