Google has officially announced that its annual developer conference, Google I/O, will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. Google confirmed the date after enough community members completed the Break the Loop puzzle.
The I/O event date traditionally marks the day of the keynote, which Google uses to reveal new hardware and software features for existing Google products. This year’s I/O was no exception, kicking off with CEO Sundar Pichai’s keynote address at Shoreline Amphitheater. The event should then transition into developer-focused webinars and technical sessions.
Similar to previous years, Google I/O 2024 will be live streamed for free and anyone can participate virtually. There will also be a limited number of live spectators at the venue.
Online registration for the event opens today and is free. After registering, attendees can receive email updates about the latest schedule and content. In addition, registrants can create developer profiles to personalize their experience and save content relevant to their interests.
Hardware enthusiasts can expect announcements that follow Google’s tradition of showing off new devices at I/O. Past product launches include Pixel phones, Chromebooks and Nest products.
