long story short
- Pixel Fold 2 display size has been leaked.
- If the latest information is accurate, the phone may have larger outer and inner screens than the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
- Its dimensions may be very close to the OnePlus Open.
The Google Pixel Fold is known for its relatively compact 5.8-inch display compared to other foldable phones like the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and OnePlus Open. Google seems to be abandoning the traditional smartphone look and opting for the larger Pixel Fold 2.
According to display analyst Ross Young, the Pixel Fold 2 will choose a taller 6.29-inch cover screen and an 8.02-inch foldable panel. This will make it slightly larger than the Z Fold 5, which has a 6.2-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch foldable screen.
In fact, in terms of these dimensions, the Pixel Fold 2 will be very close to the OnePlus Open’s 6.31-inch external display and 7.82-inch foldable panel.
Young also noted that the Pixel Fold 2’s overlay screen will retain the same wider form factor as its predecessor.
The phone is expected to launch later this year. We’ll likely hear officially from Google about this during the Google I/O summit in May.
We previously revealed in an exclusive report that the Pixel Fold 2 may use the Tensor G4 chipset instead of the Tensor G3 on the Pixel 8 series. If so, Google may skip the summer launch of the new foldable phone and launch it in October alongside the Pixel 9 series.
