CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) – Wyoming is beginning to identify homes and businesses eligible for grants to provide high-speed internet access.
The Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Initiative (BEAD) ensures that everyone has access to high-speed, reliable, and affordable Internet access.
Wyoming has $347 million in funding to connect everyone in the state.
Currently, Wyoming is in the challenge process, which will determine which locations and communities are eligible to receive services under the BEAD program.
“This is a historic level of investment and there’s no question over the past few years how important it has been to have reliable, high-speed, affordable internet in your home, so this is another step in that process for Wyoming, ” said Courtney Dozier, BEAD associate director of programs.
