The Mi 14 Ultra is an impressive camera phone—Xiaomi even hired professionals to shoot movies with it. It has a 50MP 1″-type main sensor, 50MP 75mm telephoto and 50MP ultra-wide-angle (with AF), and a 32MP selfie camera with a 22mm wide-angle lens. The rest of the phone is equally impressive, with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 12 It has a 6.73-inch QHD+ LTPO 120Hz display in 2-bit color and a 5,000mAh battery with 90W wired and 80W wireless charging. It’s technically still available for pre-order, but shipping will start on Monday.
Xiaomi Mi 14 is already available, with Amazon offering a modest €60 discount. It’s smaller but not smaller, with a 6.36-inch 1200p LTPO display (120Hz, 12-bit color). It also runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and has triple 50MP cameras – a smaller but not smaller 1/1.31” sensor on the main camera, a 75mm telephoto lens and a 115° lens on the ultra-wide angle (no autofocus). 4,610mAh The battery can be charged via wired 90W and wireless charging 50W.
Meanwhile, both the Samsung Galaxy A55 and A35 are now available for pre-order, with shipments set to begin in a few weeks (March 29). Both feature 6.6-inch FHD+ 120Hz displays, 5,000mAh batteries, 25W wired charging, and 50MP main cameras.
However, the Galaxy A55 stands out with its aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass on the front and back (Victus+ on the front). It also comes with the new Exynos 1480, which is the first time an AMD GPU has appeared in mid-range Android. Also, the 12MP ultra-wide angle is slightly better.
The Samsung Galaxy A35 has a plastic chassis and back, and uses the older Exynos 1380 (from last year’s A54). Note that the base model here has 6GB RAM, and if you want 8GB RAM, you’ll need to buy the 256GB version. Note that both phones have a microSD slot and IP67 dust and water resistance. Neither has a headphone jack.
Before you choose the Galaxy A, take a look at the Nothing Phone (2a). It comes with a 6.7-inch 10-bit color display (FHD+ 120Hz) and Dimensity 7200 chipset. The camera comes with a 50MP main camera and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle (114°) camera, and this time it comes with a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
The PlayStation 5 slim is smaller and lighter than the original. The CD version is now 100 euros cheaper than the normal price.
