“Lana Planet” release date confirmed on PlayStation consoles and Switch

PlayStation and Switch owners will soon be able to enjoy a game that PC and Xbox owners have had since last year: Wishively’s cinematic puzzle adventure game, Lana Planet.

The game, which will be released on PlayStation 4, PS5 and Switch next month, tells the story of Lana and her loyal animal companion Mui, who are on a mission to save Lana’s sister.

PlayStation and Switch owners, rejoice: Lana Planet is coming to your consoles in April.

Featuring colorful watercolor landscapes, the pair will explore an alien world filled with wonder and adventure, traveling through mysterious caves to arid desert landscapes, encountering strange creatures and even dangerous machines lurking in dense forests.

Gameplay is built around companion mechanics connecting Lana and Mui, including platforming, cinematic puzzles, and stealth sequences. Only by working together can you solve puzzles and avoid dangers such as stalkers, spindle-legged robot threats, and some unfriendly fauna.

It’s a lovely game, and so is the soundtrack, which isn’t surprising considering it was created by DICE and BAFTA-nominated composer Takeshi Furukawa (The Last Guardian). The soundtrack was in contention for the 2024 DICE Award for Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition, but the award was ultimately won by Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Announced during the 2021 Summer Game Festival, Lana Planet was originally slated for release in 2022, but was later delayed to May 23, 2023 for PC and Xbox.

You can purchase the game on April 16 for PlayStation consoles and Switch.
