Recently, Valve released a ranking of the 100 most played games. steam deck Competitions over the past 12 months. It’s fun to dig through so much data, and the full list is both a snapshot of recent trends and a reminder that old favorites are among the most popular options on Valve’s portable PCs.
March 14, About two years after the Steam Deck launchedAs part of the ongoing Spring 2024 Sale, Valve has released a list of the most played games on the best-selling devices of the past year. According to Valve, the list of the 100 most played games on Steam Deck is based on the number of daily active players between March 2023 and March 2024. Interestingly, Valve’s listing doesn’t care about the game’s Steam Deck status. This means that approximately 27 games (27% of the list) are unverified or even unsupported Steam Deck games.
See full list, a lot of the games I expected to be here are here, listed at the top. There are some real surprises and headaches, though. For example, Balatero— released just a few weeks ago — made it into the top 30. Another recent release, Deep Rock Galaxy: Survivors—An idle shooter spin-off of the FPS mining game deep rock galaxy– The ranking is a bit lower than that number, at 39. As someone who has invested a lot of time playing both games on the Steam Deck, I can attest that they are a perfect fit for the platform. (Interestingly, it turns out deep rock Games are also on the list, but only at number 91. )
Another interesting entry in the list is starry sky.A lot of people are playing Bethesda’s open-world space RPG on the Steam Deck, even though it’s Not a good experience. The fact that Valve listed the game as “unsupported” didn’t stop people from playing it and helped the game rank 46th.
Looking at the top of the list, a few older games dominate, including Grand Theft Auto V, Elden Ringand Stardew Valley. But the pinned posts are about massive RPGs and kissing simulators Baldur’s Gate 3. it is ahead of vampire survivor, Many people (myself included) believe that this game is perfect for the Deck, so Valve should pay the developer to have it pre-installed on the device.Although I prefer vampire survivor, I completely understand how a turn-based, narrative-heavy RPG would be a perfect fit for the Steam Deck. Sometimes you want to kiss a devil lady on the couch while watching Netflix. No judgment.
