this PS5 Pro The rumor mill is spinning again. While some analysts believe Sony’s PlayStation update will launch sometime this year, maybe before grand theft auto 6 come out, we don’t know much about the console yet. Now, a new leak suggests that the improved PS5 will not only have more teraflops than the Xbox Series X, but will also feature proprietary upscaling technology for better resolution.

YouTube tech blogger Moore’s Law is Dead, who has been leaked several times in the past, uploaded a video on March 14 in which he claimed to be “from within Sony.” The PS5 Pro, codenamed “Trinity,” sounds like a real improvement over the base PS5, according to the alleged documents.
First, leaks claim that the PS5 Pro’s rendering performance is 45% faster than the base console, and that ray tracing is two to four times faster. It also comes with a custom machine learning architecture called PlayStation Spectral Super-Resolution (PSSR).
According to the YouTuber’s documentation, the technology is Sony’s internal upscaler that will replace the game’s existing temporal anti-aliasing, or upsampling, with a resolution similar to the output of AMD’s FSR2 or Nvidia’s DLSS technology. Basically, PSSR compresses every bit of resolution in your game to give you the best possible visuals, supporting graphics settings starting at 4K and eventually reaching 8K and beyond.
Console warriors, however, may gravitate toward teraflops, a unit used to measure computer speed. Remember when the Xbox Series X was released in 2020?It claims to have 12 teraflops, which means The game reportedly performs better Because the GPU is more powerful. These white pages indicate that the PS5 Pro will have 33.5 teraflops, which is almost three times that of the Series X. Since the base PS5 only has 10.3 teraflops, this means that the PS5 Pro steals the title from the Series X and becomes the “The world’s most powerful console”. I think that’s cool.

PS5 Pro sounds like what it will eventually boil down to being an improved version of the PS5, but right now it doesn’t feel like that much of a deal. Sony won’t release “new major existing series” games until 2025. who knows? Perhaps, when the PS5 Pro is launched, the games launched with it will become a compelling selling point. Until then, I’m very happy with my current console.
