C Spire, a leading telecommunications and technology services company, is embarking on a rapid expansion of its fiber infrastructure to deliver multi-gigabit home fiber internet at speeds up to 8G to thousands of homes in Robertsdale.
Toby Dubois, general manager of C Spire Home Services, emphasized the company’s commitment to Alabama’s fiber optic infrastructure.
Dubois said: “Over the past three years, C Spire has prioritized Alabama’s fiber infrastructure by investing $500 million. Connectivity is a catalyst that transforms communities, fosters innovation, attracts investment and drives economic growth. We are excited to provide this to our residents. Serving Robertsdale has the advantage of super-fast and reliable home internet.”
Fiber construction has already begun in Robertsdale’s Nana Loop and Richmond Street, with other communities expected to be completed over the next 12-18 months.Homeowners in the Robertsdale area can now order residential fiber and sign up at the following address www.cspire.com/fibre.
Local government, community and business leaders are calling on residents to embrace the new service. Robertsdale Mayor Charles H. Murphy expressed his appreciation for C Spire’s investment in upgrading the city’s data applications.
“The City of Robertsdale is certainly grateful for C Spire’s financial investment in upgrading our city’s data applications,” Murphy said. “This provides us with the opportunity for enhanced and quality communications services which will be delivered through the installation of a new fiber optic ring in Robertsdale.”
Lee Lawson, president and CEO of the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance, emphasized the importance of C Spire’s investment in fiber resources to Robertsdale’s economic development.
“Robertsdale is located in the geographic center of one of the fastest growing and best economically developing counties in the country,” Lawson said. “Residential and commercial investment in Robertsdale is booming and C Spire’s continued investment in fiber resources will help maintain this positive investment momentum.”
Since its founding in 2014, C Spire has launched fiber service in more than 150 communities in Alabama, Mississippi, Florida and Tennessee. South Alabama cities offering C Spire fiber internet include Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, Foley, Fairhope, Robertsdale, Spanish Fort, and unincorporated areas of Mobile and Baldwin counties .
The company remains committed to accelerating fiber deployment in Alabama and Mississippi to provide ultra-fast broadband internet access to residents and advanced voice and data services to businesses.
