Life, work and travel have new definitions in 2024. Once upon a time, these three were separate entities; where you lived was not where you worked, or where you worked and you didn’t travel. But with the advent of trailers and campers, the entire definition is changing. Now, where you live is where you work, and where you work is where you travel. Cincinnati-based Remote Vans has been making this transformation since 2021, reaching new heights in 2024 with three new models (Friday, Oasis and Aegis).
These three Remote Van models are all built on the Mercedes Sprinter chassis, with “power, comfort and connectivity” as the core. Friday, Oasis and Aegis were born out of the company’s new 30,000-square-foot production facility, where all products are designed and manufactured in-house, except for minor metal processing by local suppliers. While power comes from the Sprinter, Remote Vans’ experience in Class B RVs ensures comfort and provides connectivity via Starlink high-speed internet. All of this is powered by a massive power bank that can run off electricity or use a 190-watt solar panel.
Designer: Remote Van
Remote Vans is now entering the RV market with some customization features that should put it in a different position than its competitors. For example, the newly launched Friday, Oasis and Aegis are equipped with company-made shower trays (circulating and folding shower systems), fresh water tanks and other suitable features such as Espar circulating water and air heating systems to make long camping days fun.
These long-range van models feature a new power bank consisting of a 16.8 kWh 51 V lithium-ion battery and a 3,000 W inverter, which provides 60% more storage capacity than previous models. It meets the power needs of a high-efficiency 48-volt air conditioner that can run for days on portable energy. All three models have onboard features that are ideal for both small and large adventures, but the base model Friday lacks some advanced features, such as a suspension package, remote fuel tanks and the additional solar panel options found on the Oasis and Aegis.
Friday, prices start at $205,000 and include a kitchen, queen bed, 90-degree swing seat, interior shower, portable toilet, roof rack and awning. The entrance leads to a comfortable and welcoming living space with a legless bed, scratch-proof kitchen, overhead shelves and lightweight upper cabinets. The kitchen features worktops, induction cooktop, microwave, minimalist drawers, sink and refrigerator, and is easily accessible from inside or outside the van.
The queen-size hammock is designed to fold away during the day to provide 17.4 square feet of accessible garage space underneath when needed, while the fun swivel seat and fold-out swivel table make multiple remote workstation setups or dining in bed possible go. The basics of the Oasis and Aegis Fridays remain the same, while some additional features on the latter two campers boost the price.
