Motorola has recently been enriching its smartphone product portfolio, especially the Moto G series, with the launch of Moto G Power 5G (2024) and Moto G (2024). The company has also been teasing its upcoming Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Fusion devices, which could launch as early as April 3. Meanwhile, another Moto G device appears to be hitting the market, but perhaps without much fanfare.
The Motorola Moto G64 5G recently appeared on the Google Play Console with some important details. Apparently, it will run the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 chipset – a 5G, 6nm chip due in 2023 that is essentially a rebranded Dimensity 930. It comes with two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.2 GHz and another six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2.2 GHz. Up to 2.0 GHz, plus IMG BXM-8-256 GPU. Google Play Console lists two variants of the Moto G64y – one with 8GB of RAM and the other with 12GB.
Moto G64 5G on Google Play Console
We don’t know the display’s diagonal, but we do know that it has a FullHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a reported pixel density of 400 ppi. From the accompanying pictures of the device, we can also see that the display has a selfie punch-hole. The volume and power buttons also appear to be on the right side of the phone.
Notably, a Moto G64y 5G with purportedly identical specifications was spotted on Google Play Console a few days ago, but it is no longer listed. Perhaps the list has been edited to reflect the new name of the device. We haven’t seen how this new model differs from last year’s Moto G54, which seemed very similar.
We don’t have any more information about the phone just yet, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for any other developments.
