In case you missed it, some of the clips circulating are from a livestream that took place late last week and was about four hours long. One Twitch user named JustIchor claimed to have purchased the game “legitimately” from Walmart (thanks to TheGamer) and showed off some gameplay content before his entire channel was taken down, seemingly at the request of rights holder Capcom.
Although the stream was quickly deleted, it looks like a few others who had early access to the game are posting short clips and information about things like trophies to the Dragon’s Dogma subreddit, which This led to some understandable dissatisfaction among those trying to avoid spoiling any details.
A user named Sentinel_P decided to take it upon themselves to watch some of the leaked footage so their peers didn’t have to, and report their findings in a relatively spoiler-free way. What were their main conclusions? “If you liked Dragon’s Dogma 1, you’ll also like Dragon’s Dogma 2.”
To be fair, fans of one entry in the series are never guaranteed to like the new one, but if you’re wondering, the game’s official previews – like this one and that one – should pretty much give you an idea of what you’re in for and what it’s like Comparison to the first game. That said, it doesn’t look like the poster’s leak was completely in vain, as they also listed some small details and mechanics they discovered.
The most concerning of these is the apparent lack of an option to hide Arisen’s helmet, which is bad news for anyone who’s spent hours in the character creator piecing together the perfect look for their Sonic performance. As you can imagine, a lot of people declared that they would go the entire game without helmets. Obviously, taking it off when you’re in a safe place is a less drastic option.
No matter how important it is to you to be able to show off the beautiful faces of your horrific creations in Dragon’s Dogma 2, make sure you stay tuned for all the helpful guides we’ll be delivering on the game when it releases later this week and reporting.
