If you haven’t been following Backbone lately, last year we saw updates to its USB-C line for the iPhone 15 series, new controllers, and most recently, the launch of the Backbone One Death Stranding limited edition. Backbone also works with Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile () rise. But the company hasn’t forgotten about old phones. Today, the Backbone One Lightning (2nd Gen) and Backbone One PlayStation Edition Lightning (2nd Gen) are released, bringing improvements from USB-C models to Lightning controllers. This includes magnetic adapters, improved D-pad, and more.
As always, all Backbone One controllers can be found on Backbone’s own website, Amazon, etc. I’m excited to see the team return and bring improvements to the USB-C controller for those who upgraded their phones a few years ago. Backbone+ subscribers get a 30% discount and no trade-in required, which is pretty amazing. I’m curious to see what Backbone does next with potential new upgrades in 2024 and more. Read the full announcement here. If you have the new Backbone One, what do you think of it? Will you buy this newer controller for your old iPhone?
