The internet is divided after pregnant mom expresses disappointment over gender reveal

In a video posted to TikTok, Michigan mother Autumn Freeman combined her reaction to her first child’s gender reveal with that of her second child.

“Trigger warning, one of the videos shows frustration with gender,” she wrote in the video.

The first video from 2021 shows Freeman laughing and happily jumping into her husband’s arms when she found out she was pregnant with a girl, exclaiming “Oh my God, I’m so excited!”

In a second video, Freeman admitted, “I was actually sad” after popping pink confetti.

Her husband comforted her and said, “It doesn’t matter.” She will be as beautiful as anyone else. “

People were not happy with her reaction and many felt sorry for the child.

“My smile faded so fast,” one person said, while another added, “This is so sad, that poor kid.”

“Not good!!! A healthy baby girl!!” another commented.

Many believed she shouldn’t have posted the video in case her future children saw it.

“When you grow up, your kids will see this [you know],” said one person.

“She can show this to her therapist in 20 years [years],” wrote another.

In an interview with People, Freeman explained that her disappointment faded after the gender reveal.

“In my perfect world, I would have a boy and a girl,” she said.

“I actually wanted a boy with Violet, but this was my first child and I was excited no matter what…and then, with this, we knew this was our last child. “

“I think I was depressed for maybe a week and then it went away,” she added.

“I just told myself that the universe was giving me what I needed and what I could handle… I was just meant to be a girl mom.”

Freeman was not shy about his reaction. In response to the backlash in her comments, Freeman said: “I’ve had a lot of haters in my comments like: ‘You don’t even love this kid. You don’t deserve this kid.

“That’s not the case at all. It has nothing to do with how I feel about my child, how much I love it or how much it will be loved. It was just a brief moment and it’s gone now. I’m so ready to have my daughter.”

She said she received an outpouring of support after posting the video, with many thanking her for sharing her raw reactions to let them know they were not alone.
