United Communications-MTE prepares to provide fiber optic high-speed Internet service and cuts ribbon
(Murfreesboro) Thursday (March 19, 2024) United Communications, in partnership with Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE), has officially opened its new Rutherford Operations Center at 1010 Haley Road, Murfreesboro. This represents an $85 million investment that will provide high-speed Internet to an expanded service area including 77,000 customers. It also expands the company’s internet connectivity in Murfreesboro and Rutherford counties.
The company has up to 2 gigabit bandwidth, delivered through fiber optic networks. Combined with the two-digit gigabit is the latest Wi-Fi 6 technology. United Communications also provides telephone service to residential and business addresses in Middle Tennessee.
The broadband infrastructure deployed by United Communications not only solves instant connectivity issues, but also serves as an economic development catalyst, promoting growth and innovation in local communities, particularly in Rutherford County.
United Communications has an extensive infrastructure covering more than 3,700 miles of fiber optics with operations throughout Bedford, Davidson, Franklin, Marshall, Maury, Rutherford, Williamson and Wilson counties.
